“Before the Campaign I felt that girls and women
only thought about getting married.... But during the Campaign I have
met many women who think differently and that has been an eye-opener for
me.
Earlier I felt that it was more important to provide legal support, income
generation schemes, etc. for distressed women. Now I realise that the
Campaign and its messages are equally important. They are the starting
point for change.
My sister has experienced domestic violence and I am trying
to help her take a stand – so I feel strongly about domestic violence
and the need for society to change… |
I believe in the Campaign, I believe it can help improve many peoples’
lives. I am disturbed when people don’t recognise discrimination
or acknowledge forms of violence other than physical violence.
Personally it has helped me be more confident, improve my leadership and
communication skills. There are still a few issues that I am confused
about. I hope my continued involvement with the campaign will help me
resolve these issues…”
